I was so hicked up about seeing Cap's advert and then we had a blackout.

Re-con: Chapter I

Imagine having the chance to have your student loan of over R100,000 repaid in the click of a mouse button.

I don't have to imagine it. I am living that hypothetical situation which is as real as the heart that beats so rapidly within me.

Four years ago Africon Light began a highly confidential research for alternative energy. They did not succeed in time to register the patent however. Instead, they were beaten to the finish line by three students of the University of Johannesburg who in all honsety were inspired mostly by boredom.

Lesedi Rikhotso; Aurthur Molefe and Ramjid Rutthan. These are the three names attached to what is now known as the RMR Process; these are the the three youths who's lives took a strong change when Africon Light decided to annex what they discovered and do what all big corporations do best when they get too big: Monopolise.

Patrice Baloyi was the CEO of Africon Light and she sat looking at me from behingd her desk. She had a caniving and confident look in her eye. She knew she had a very strong bargaining chip to trade with in this situation.

"Now something tells me that you haven't spoken to anyone about this; not even your team." She motioned to the documents on her desk that I had discovered during the audit of the her company. "I find that promising."

I sat in the chair trying to keep my composure. "Mrs Baloyi...."
"Come one sweety, I think we're close enough to be on a first name basis." she interrupted me, "Call me Patrice."
Taken aback, I summoned the courage to speak again, "Patrice, I have to report this to my supervisour."
"I know you do Ndaga. What I am curious about is: Why haven't you? You're had this information long enough to bring it to your supervisour's attention."
"I wanted to be clear that I did not misunderstand this information. I needed to eliminate uncertainty."
"That's not it." She said with a cocky smile.
"Excuse me?"
"That's not why you've delayed reporting this." She slowly stood up from her chair with a smile of malice on her face. "You didn't report this because you do want to report this." She paused and smiled to herself, "Actually, it's ME that you do not want to report."

My heart picked up the pace.

"Oh baby. Since I am your first then mamma will be gentle with you. I'll even put it nice and simple for you: If you come to your good senses and realise that you are 'mistaken about this', then maybe I'll make sure things with Tsepi stay as bright and rosey as they are so far.

But the artist of the past month is Captain Unobservant, for his Aarto animation advert.
Guys, the rest of your projects are really cool, and hopefully you'll keep us up to date on how everything is going. Specially since we'll be doing another artist of the month now.

The capt wins a "How to self-publish Comics" book, all the way from Outerlimits. Which I have with me...and have to get to the Capt at some point.
As well as a surprise prize. Which I can't really mention at this point.

So I'll open up the thread for the next artist of the year.
You guys can enter your projects every month of course, with some updates perhaps.

I just wanna ad a little something, I'm doing this artist of the month thing so that we know what you're up too ( not in a spying or stalker way) but so that we can promote you much more. And if the forumers know what you're up to, who knows which oportunities might come up. That's all
