Well, so far we have 6 kick arse artists creating and donating a piece of art to be auctioned / sold (depends on how many arts we get). One's from Japan... another one from Australia ( *ahem* hint hint)

More art pieces are very welcome at this stage. biggrin.gif
If you're interested in donating a piece, I'm just going to need your Name & Last name for the booklet thingie, and a contact number smile.gif

And then we're going to need everyone to show up for the gig /exhibition on the 7th of March 2009 and contribute ph34r.gif

Beeld will be there, obviously.
And we're getting a radio station and a magazine involved as well. Poor souls.

Do you accept high res digital work and can we use marvel or dc characters? Why i'm asking is cause if its not going to be mass produced, surely it would be ok to do?

zooBeanz- 10-08-2008
No, you can not use DC or Marvel characters. They will sue us. I don't have money, I can't be sued.
You have to create a hero. Your own one. please.

mxmx- 10-08-2008
so its being mass produced?

zooBeanz- 10-08-2008
We'll auction off the original art piece.
And then have about 5 prints of each available to also sell. ( depends if how many people want prints I guess)
I don't think that really counts as mass production.
And the art is not going to be sold for anything other than CANSA.

Ok...i did a digital daredvil piece for the charity event...it may be illegit cause its marvel...if you want it for charity, your free to have it. Time is limited for drawing sometimes, and sometimes i have to draw what i like because of lack of drawing inspiration, or i sometimes end not drawing at all...

Edit: maybe you can just "try" and sell one instead of more...then they don't have a foot to stand on ...Its digital though and would have had to be printed or something....

zooBeanz- 10-08-2008
hm, I think I'm rather going to have a chat with a marvelite first, and find out if we can do that.

I really do appreciate the offer though, but rather safe than sorry wink.gif
I'll get back to you.

I have a question!

What mediums can we use for the original artwork? Any?

And, what exactly is being made based on the originals? Stamps and prints? T-shirts? All of the above?

Do we have a logo for this yet? Maybe we should set that as the next challenge or something...

I've already got an idea for a "character" biggrin.gif

zooBeanz- 10-09-2008
You can use any medium you're comefortable with.

Based on the orignials, probably only prints.
It would be awesome if we could actually do the t-shirts, but that's going to cost a bit...

We could probably have a design challenge for a change. I think that would be different and fun.

All righty, so he said that it's a gray area. And he used the words 'it's kind of okay' a lot. sad.gif

You can get away with selling the original as a commissioned piece of work.
But, selling prints of it, is a bit dicy.

So I'm sure we'll be able to auction off the original.

mxmx- 10-09-2008
Just a question...can a digital artwork be considered an original? how does this work? In other words, its an original if only one gets printed to be sold?

zooBeanz- 10-09-2008
1. Original as in, pencil/ink/watercolors/oil paint/carrot juice on paper/canvas.

2. Digital art is a print.

But prints can be made from the originals as well (1)

Milo-Wildcat- 10-14-2008
heya, i had a brain fart yesterday, but dunno if it'll work XP

Is this art/print aiuction gonna be exclusive to the members of the forum?

zooBeanz- 10-14-2008
Meaning, Can only artists from Comicworx donate art?

No, supose not. If it is good quality work, 'outsiders' are welcome to donate too.
